JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:                          Tower Climber

REPORTS TO:                      Director of Operations

 

INFORMATION:                  Company operates a drug free work place and abides to OSHA regulations. 

 

EDUCATION:                       High School Diploma or GED

 

EXPERIENCE:                     Two years tower climbing experience a plus, but not a must.  Construction and maintenance of telecommunications equipment.  Proficient in troubleshooting and antenna repairs.  Rigging knowledge. 

 

MEN./PHY.QUAL:               Must be capable of working under pressure.  May be required to stand or hang from high buildings or towers for extended periods of time while performing job duties.  Must be able to concentrate for extended periods of time paying close attention to detail.  Must be able to lift heavy equipment (min. 50lb).  Must be able to climb to high altitudes (from 150’ to 650’) proficiently.  Must be able to travel for up to three weeks at a time.

 

SPECIAL SKILLS:               To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and / or ability required.

 

JOB SUMMARY:                  Tower Climber, responsible for construction and maintenance of telecommunication sites.  Perform site audits and inspection of towers to satisfy any safety concerns. Perform other duties as assigned.

*Project Management experience- ability to track deployment, manage the equipment vendors (such as Ericsson, Nokia etc) and the turf vendor in order to build new sites, modify or upgrade existing sites.
* Experience driving projects, holding people accountable, managing timelines and project schedules
*Lead deployment conference calls and meeting to update all parties on market status
*Must be able to do reporting and make presentations to Market and Regional employees from AT&T.
*From a technical standpoint- have experience managing large scale UMTS projects previously.  This is NOT a Construction Manager role.  Must know Ericsson 3G or Nokia 2G BTS cabinet equipment and have an understanding of power, grounding, and RAN infrastructure.
*Experience with cutting POs with vendors and how to create SOWs.
